Canon PowerShot Pro Series S5 IS Digital Camera

I bought this digital camera when it first hit the market for right around $500. I don't regret that purchase, it's an awesome camera, but I am jealous of anyone who can buy one now for under $400!

Let me just point out some of the key features of the Canon PowerShot S5 IS and then you can go read other digital camera reviews and get the specs before you make any decisions.

VIDEO! One main feature for me was the video quality. The Powershot S5 IS offers 640x480 resolution and a frame rate of 30fps. The video quality is outstanding. You can record your own videos, copy the files right over to your computer, edit them down in iMovie or Movie Maker, then make a DVD. You don't need to lug around a camcorder. The Canon Powershot S5 IS is a pro-quality digital camera with a full resolution digital video camera built in.

HUGE IMAGES! Did I mention the 8 Megapixel resolution of the digital SLR, picture modes? Let me just explain it this way, if you printed the largest photo resolution on the S5 at 72 pixels per inch on a large format printer you'd end up with a picture that is almost 3 by 4 feet! Now, to get a little more technical, most of your photos will be printed at 4x6 inches. So if we do the math we get a printed resolution of say, 540 pixels per inch. That's Hi Resolution! All of the other features you'd expect are there too...
