HAPPY NEW YEAR – Let’s Make a Difference!

Well, we’ve rolled into another one. One more year down! Maybe this year our government, and the UN, will figure out how to get a decent handle on this Iraq thingy and maybe actually take more action to help save a lot of poor souls.

As of October, 2006 over 400,000 have been killed, and according to SaveDarfur.org, “more than 2 million innocent civilians have been forced to flee their homes and now live in displaced-persons camps in Sudan or in refugee camps in neighboring Chad”

Look, I know it’s a tough situation, but people are being slaughtered, women raped, villages torched, children shot, maimed, killed! Something needs to be done, and fast! The bloodshed is now spreading, getting worse. Cease fires go unheaded, and it doesn’t really look like the Sudanese government cares too much.

You’d think in a modern, “civilized” world things like racial cleansing couldn’t possibly exist. Racial cleansing. Like people of any particular race are dirtier than another? The only dirty scum here are the people doing the “cleansing.”

Do what you can to help. Raise awareness of this attrocity, pass around this link and get others involved, or at least tell people what’s going on.

So let all of us concerned citizens, people with a conscience, with consideration for the rights of every other citizen of the world (except for maybe those marauding murderers), make 2007 the year we actually make a difference and help put an end to the genocide in Darfur.

Here’s to a good year! Let’s make it one!
