WBC Cult fined 10.9 Million for demonstration
At a recent demonstration during the funeral of one of our troops by a fanatical hate group the signs read things like, “Thank God for dead soldiers,” and “Fag troops.” In a related video about this picketing I saw a poster that read “God is America’s Terror!” It’s true really, but not in the way they’re using the phrase.
Belief in a god, and religion in general, are the main problems. While upstanding, community friendly church groups and organizations have done wonders for many of the suffering and less fortunate in our world, there is still something to be said about the role of belief, religion, and fringe movements, in war. Just take a look to the east.
But this isn’t a piece on religion. I’m writing this to yell at the ignorant fools who feel they have the right to pass judgement on others, and use antiquated religious ideas to backup their actions.
One article I read stated that this was a controversial protest. No, it wasn’t controversial. It was hateful, sick, twisted, demented and any other word you can tack on to describe the activities of a depraved group of cult members with a surplus of ignorance. These twits are perfect loyal subjects for their misguided, mentally ill leader Fred Phelps.
Here’s what normal people don’t do: we don’t hate other people, gay, straight or otherwise. Sure, we might not like other people sometimes, and anybody can be an ass hole (gay, straight or otherwise), especially during that morning rush hour when everyone who can’t drive thinks they own the road and is running late for work. Saps. Get up earlier.
But this demonstration, which is really the wrong phrase to describe such an atrocity, goes beyond anything that is acceptable. Where the hell do these idiots come from anyway? Is there a scum bag gene that’s still in the process of being weeded out by evolution? Couldn’t happen soon enough!
An interesting thing to note here is that this cult consists of roughly 75 to 150 imbeciles, young and old. This estimate is based on two separate articles which had different counts. Either way it’s a small group. Most of the members are relatives of their leader. Hmmm, a nice all-in-the-family pack of whackos. I guess simple, sordid, minds like to stick together.
According to a Wikipedia article, this cult — yes I will call it a cult, even though their home is the Westboro Baptist Church, which is not affiliated with any legitimate Babtist associates — is monitored by the Anti-Defamation League, and classified as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.
At least they are recognized for what they are. And what luck, a fine of 10.9 million dollars has been levied against the group for picketing the funeral. Finally, some justice. I don’t think their offering plates will collect that much for a long time. Maybe they’ll be forced to close up shop altogether. We can only hope.
Aside from adding insult to injury at funerals of fallen soldiers, this group is responsible for countless demonstrations around the United States, condemning gays mostly. But also condemning soldiers for fighting for their country. This sick group is completely misled and off-base. Narrow, little, simplistic minds. That’s what we have here folks. Plain blind faith, ignorance and hatred. That’s a recipe for disaster.
I heard that a biker gang met up with some of the WBC cult at one of their planned demonstrations. I’d love to see a video of that. Real justice is so refreshing to see.
