What would I do without my wife?

In a previous observation I spoke of my wife's humorous, nocturnal laughter and interesting proclamations. This time I'd like to discuss the significant impact my wife has had upon my life in other ways.

It is said that God works in mysterious ways. I concur. Also, my wife works in mysterious ways, and many of these ways are not always readily obvious to her, so must be of devine origin. Therefore, God works in mysterious ways through people, though at times I wish he would be less blunt.

Even though many of my wife's methods may be pointed they do succeed in prodding me in the right direction, most times, with little scarring. I say "most times" because ultimately the path we choose is up to us, and sometimes outside influence has little chance against our own stubbornness.

Regardless of that fact, my wife is an inspiration and a motivation. Some days, when I think I'm all washed up, she offers her suggestions, critiques, or simply says something to the effect of "Stop being such a moron!" God, I love her.

Used to be that I would dream of great things, aspire to great things, but never had the outgoing attitude, guts, or nerve that is required to succeed. Well, thanks to my lovely bride I've got some guts, some nerve. She helps me to realize (with those sharp little ways of hers) that I can get to where I want. It will take time and persistance, but I must continue to believe that I can make a meaningful contribution on this nutty blue green planet!

We all can make a difference. We all can have an effect. It just takes that realization, and then some determination.

What would I do with out my wife? Not much.
