Among other things. But it is finally nice to be getting closer to summer, and out of the frosty winter here in the Northeast U.S. Does anyone out there feel the same way I do? It's been cold all over, even my friend Roger down in Florida mentioned that he woke up one morning and saw icecicles hanging from the lemons and grapefruits in his yard. Of course he had to make me completely jealous and tell me that later that day he was walking around outside with a t-shirt on. The bum. Don't get me wrong, I do not dislike winter, and you'll never hear me complain while I'm shoveling out my driveway (not all the time anyway), or crunching home from work through five inches of snow in my 4x4. There are too many other things we can be concerned about. But it is nice to see summer finally on the way. It's funny how many people complain, complain, complain about snow. I say if you're going to complain everytime it snows in the winter (which is to be expected) then you're living in the wrong state, so move! I suppose there are more than a handful of people who have moved to Florida to escape the snow and now complain about the heat. There's another thing that gets me, and this has nothing to do with the weather, just this complaining rant I seem to be on (not complaining mind you), but there is one lady where I work who stands by the bank of microwaves at lunchtime, waiting for her meal to heat up, and she complains about the two minutes it takes. We know who's not cooking at her house. She must order in, and then complain to the driver that it took too long to bring her food. I stand patient at checkout in the supermarket, utterly amazed at the huffing and puffing that goes on behind me. Sometimes I feel like turning around and saying, "Hey, you're complaining now, and you have one more person to wait for even after the one in front of me is finished! Clam up and stop complaining!" But I don't of course, that would be rude. I just wait my turn. Complaining is silly, especially in a world where there are far too many homeless, far too many children without proper care or shelter, and other atrocities. I have a roof over my head, a nice microwave, a wife who loves me, and great friends. What have I got to complain about? Well, give me a minute I'll think of something. Seriously, we all have our peeves, but from time to time we should open up our eyes and take in the big picture. There are people out there with worse problems than ours. Let's say a prayer for them and stop our complaining. At least the frivolous ones. Look forward to brighter days. Hey, spring is on the way, things are looking up. So here's to spring! You won't hear any complaints from me.
