AC Grayling presents “The Unconsidered Life” at the Richard Dawkins Foundation YouTube Channel. Good stuff. Highly recommended for anyone who is ready to take life seriously and get on with the good stuff. “Cat Check!” My wife called as she ran through the front door with Boomer the Rottweiler, our newest family member, in tow. Time flies and friends come and go. Sometimes they really go, so keep your memories, sometimes they’re the only way to spend time with an old friend. It’s amazing what we can see if we stick around long enough and have a little patience. We can apply that to life too. If we careen blindly through life like an asteroid we often miss the neat stuff. The things that make us wonder in awe. Stand on top of a mountain and see how big the world is. Peer through a telescope and see the craters on the moon. I pull my hat down to shelter my eyes from the setting sun, not setting on my life, but illuminating the trail ahead, preparing the way. Thoughts on the inspiration that can be found in music. It’s an escape. What does it take to be a neat guy? I’m not sure. I think for many people growing up through the 70’s Mr. Rogers was a neat guy. He introduced us to many interesting things. We were engaged, and we learned. Neat people are fun, different, and sometimes seem to see the big picture in simpler terms than the rest of us. And they make life fun and interesting. Don’t waste life by worrying about time. Live life by using time. |
